Does the picture on the left look familiar?
Do you have a professional looking photograph on your LinkedIn profile? If the answer is “NO,” studies show that your profile is less likely to be viewed.
Whether you are using LinkedIn to find a new job or for networking purposes, it is imperative that you have a uploaded a professional photo of yourself to your LinkedIn profile.
Not just any photo will do. Don’t post a picture of you and your dog. Leave out your kids and spouse. This needs to a professional photo of YOU! You need to be dressed professionally and have a smile. You want to look approachable. Make sure that the picture is close enough so your connections can see your eyes!
Here are the steps to adding a profile photo:
- Click on “Profile”
- Click on “Edit Profile”
- Click on the “Camera Icon”
- Click on “Choose a File”
- Choose a professional looking photograph. You can upload JPG, GIF or PNG files. The pixel size should be a minimum of 200 x 200 or a maximum of 500 x 500 pixels.
- Click on “Upload Photo”
- Your profile photo should be visible to “Everyone”
- Click on “Save Settings”
